Father's Day

I tried to ignore Father's Day, because it makes me miss my papa so much. It also makes me think of my daddy, who I haven't seen in quite some time. Days like this are hard when you can't be with the ones you're supposed to be honoring. But, I am thankful that I have the memories of both of them. I'm also thankful that Miranda has one of the best dads around. He's been totally involved since day one. Miranda is his heart. Sometimes I catch him just staring at her with a mixture of pride and awe. His love for her is written all over his face everytime he's with her. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful man in our life.

I went back to Dr. Tennis yesterday, and I had lost 4.2 lbs. Not exactly the number I was hoping for. But, he assured me that I'm right on track. I guess I was hoping to see a loss of about 50 or so...I'm really impatient. I'm wanting to wake up and the weight be gone, without me really having to work at it. Does anyone know how I can make this happen?

Kaydence Abrianna Bowman

My little niece is 2 today. I had the privilege of being there when she made her debut into this world, and she's had me wrapped around her little finger since then. She's a little fireball! I don't think Miranda had half the energy that Kaydence has! She's always into something. She goes all day long, and just when I think I can't chase her for one more second she crawls up in my lap with her cup and her "covies" and my heart just melts all over again.

Happy Birthday Kaydence~I hope your life is full of joy. You are like a daughter to me, and I hope you always remember how much I love you. I pray that God does something extra special with your life. Don't forget that auntie will always be here for you!

Miranda Faith Scott

Yesterday my daughter turned 8. It seems like just a short time ago we were bringing her home from the hospital, now she's a 3rd grader! Just a few things about Miranda:
~she will use her last dollar to buy something for someone else
~she's stubborn! She must get that from her daddy :)
~she's a bookworm. She must get that from her mama :)
~she's been on the A honor roll since she's been in school
~she's addicted to shoes
~she's super sensitive
~she's wise beyond her years. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Miranda, I wish you all the happiness in the world. I pray that God will do something wonderful in your life. You have the power in you to change the world! You are the greatest blessing in my life, and I never forget to thank God for giving you to us. We will always be here for you, no matter what. We love you baby!

15 years ago today

15 years ago today, my little sister Robin Alexandra was born. We had a bond from the beginning. I kept her a good bit from the time she was a baby, and I cherish every memory that I have of her. I've watched her grow from a little baby into a young woman, and I'm wondering where in the world have the years gone? It seems like only yesterday she was learning to walk, now she's studying for a learners permit!

So Alex I want you to know that I wish you all the happiness in the world. I hope all of your dreams come true. I hope your life is the fairytale that you deserve. But most of all I hope you remember how much I love you, and know that I am here for you ALWAYS.

2 week checkup

I went to Dr. Tennis this morning for my 2 week visit, and I have lost 13 pounds! I was so happy when I saw that number! It hasn't been that difficult to follow the plan, but I sure do miss my bread. I think I ate some kind of bread with every meal no matter what I had. All of my bloodwork was good. He told me I'm anemic, but I already knew that. He also said my thyroid is working great. That's a big jump from back in February when it wasn't working at all. I think I'm finally on my way!!

starting a new chapter

Well, I've done it...I've started a blog. I always said I didn't have anything interesting to share, but we'll see. Today is day 9 of my weight loss mission. I went to Dr. Tennis on May 25th and he got me started on my diet plan. It hasn't really been hard mentally, but the supplements leave alot to be desired. I am in the right frame of mind, and I believe that's what it takes to be successful. I go back on June 8th for my first follow up, so keep your fingers crossed!
